Hi-Lux
Shooting is more than a sport or a hobby . . . it’s a tradition. The United States was settled by men who used black powder guns to earn their independence, to put food on their tables and to keep the peace. As guns evolved, so did the need to be able to shoot farther, faster and more accurately. Optics revolutionized shooting – those who shoot with scopes are more accurate at greater distances than our forefathers ever imagined possible.
Jim Leatherman respected that tradition. He served in Vietnam and recognized the need for improved optics for snipers. When he got back to the States, he developed the revolutionary ART (Automatic Ranging and Trajectory) scope that uses a simple zoom frame and cam system that eliminates the need for the shooter to know the exact distance to the target and actual bullet drop. Hi-Lux ART tactical scopes were used by snipers in Vietnam, and some are still in service today, used by the military in arenas like Afghanistan. Hi-Lux scopes and mounts have been used by the military for years because their technology is years ahead of the rest. That same technology is available to you today, so you can acquire your target quickly and shoot more accurately than ever.
Jim was one of a kind, a true outdoorsman who loved shooting and hunting, and had a talent for design. He took that love and his natural ability to design optics and combined them to build scopes that have made Hi-Lux synonymous with quality scopes. Hi-Lux uses high quality components, such as one piece tubes forged from high tensile strength aluminum and fully multicoated lenses that are polished to photographic quality to give you the sharpest, clearest, brightest (96% light transmission!) image possible. That clear bright image is the definition of good glass. These scopes are built to last, tough enough to withstand brutal conditions. You may not be in the blowing sands of Afghanistan, but it’s nice to know that your scope is designed and constructed to keep elements like that out. Hi-Lux scopes are built to take more punishment that you can!
Hi-Lux scopes are waterproof, shockproof, fog proof and recoil proof. The wear resistant finish means your scope will continue to look good after years of use. With a scope like the Hi-Lux Buck Country on your deer rifle, you won’t have to worry about bouncing around rough terrain on an ATV or banging against a tree as you pull your gun up to your tree stand – these scopes are tough enough to take it.
If you are just learning to shoot long range, Hi-Lux ART scopes are a great tool because they let you quickly acquire your target and hit it. You simply look through the scope, find your target and shoot – all in a matter of seconds. Don’t have to worry about hold over. Zoom, frame, shoot.
Hi-Lux offers a wide range of scopes, with a model for every shooting situation, terrain or distance. Whether you have a muzzleloader for black powder deer season or a .338 for long distance range shooting, Hi-Lux has a scope for you. They respect the tradition of shooting with remakes of 1880’s era scopes, and respect the memory of Jim Leatherman by continuing to produce the most innovative, advanced scope technology on the market. Higher magnification models have a larger erector housing for greater light transmission, so you get as much light as larger scopes, plus enough room for additional windage and elevation adjustments.
Hi-Lux is leading the way to the future with innovative optics technology, while honoring the products of the past.
