Gamo
For over half a century, Gamo has been producing quality airguns and pellets around the world. They got their start in the late 1880’s producing lead products in Barcelona, Spain and expanded to airgun pellets in 1950. Then, in 1961, Gamo began production on airguns and the quality of their airguns was so well received that just two years later they began exporting to European countries. Today, they are Europe’s largest airgun manufacturer and the world’s largest airgun pellet manufacturer exporting to over 50 countries around the world. Their United States debut was in 1995 with the start of GAMO USA CORPORATIONS and the craftsmanship and careful attention to detail of Gamo directly carried over. In 2007, the private equity group MCH invested in Industrias El Gamo, the original Spain-based company, in order to consolidate the brand worldwide and also boost their expansion plans.
The renowned quality of Gamo products stems from the fact that they make all their own metal parts. Although they do not produce their own stocks, the wood used by Gamo is processed and shaped by fully computerized machinery to ensure an as perfect wooden stock as possible. On top of all that, their commitment to quality control is like none other. Every 1 to 2 hours, each and every airgun undergoes a thorough check. Random guns are also pulled and put through an even more rigorous testing which involves firing it 10,000 times and making sure it still functions. Lastly, each gun is closely inspected again before its final packaging for overall quality, power, accuracy, and finish.
Gamo believes that “an airgun is only as good as the airgun pellets it shoots” which is why they strive for excellence for not only the airguns they make, but also the airgun pellets. Their pellets are produced using the most up-to-date methods and technology putting them at the forefront of airgun pellet production. The pellets are carefully monitored to the strictest standards to ensure there is a consistent shape between pellets and the highest quality possible for them.
Gamo’s precise air rifles are made for competition, training, hunting, and recreational plinking. Gamo definitely offers variety with nearly 20 different types of air rifles to choose from. Beyond that, each series has plenty of options to choose from be it with a different scope, color, muzzle, or caliber.
Gamo air pistols are crafted with the same meticulous standards as Gamo air rifles and they are second to none in terms of speed, power, and accuracy for air pistols. Offering over half a dozen air pistols, each pistol comes with a few options with the most common being an attached Laser Sight.
Selling both lead and non-lead pellets, Gamo’s ammunition for airguns are some of the most accurate pellets out there due to their strict quality control. Each pellet type is tested through actual firing of random lot samplings. If the test pellet groups outside of 7/8ths of an inch at 10 or 25 meters, the entire lot is discarded.
The three main products from Gamo are their air rifles, air pistols, and pellets, but in addition to that, Gamo also produces and sells their own accessories and optics for their airguns. Air gun targets, cleaning and maintenance equipment, and CO2 supplies can all be bought from Gamo. They also sell spare parts for both their air rifles and air pistols, alongside scope mounts/rails, sights, stocks, and gun cases for their air rifles. If you didn’t pick up a scope when initially purchasing a Gamo airgun, don’t fret, they also sell their scopes, optics, lasers, and lights separately.
The Gamo name has a lot of history behind its name and their products directly reflect that. Know that when you buy a Gamo airgun and pellets, you are buying quality.
