Elcan Digital Rifle Scopes
Elcan's Digital Hunter Riflescope line is the world's first digital riflescope that brings the power of modern electronics and software to the shooting sports. It's rugged design features electronic ballistics compensation, automatic video capture, four field selectable reticles and customizable reticles.
You can have a video of your hunt, as you take the shot. Electronic ballistic compensation enables the shooter to hold where you want to hit. Digital Hunter (DH) is a range compensating riflescope, removing holdover estimate from the shooting equation. The four field selectable reticles, when coupled with the four ballistic data tables, enable the scope to function as four different riflescopes. It can be set up for centerfire rifle, a shotgun, a crossbow and a muzzleloader. Since the reticles are graphic images that can be any color, shape or size that can be drawn by the user via bitmap generating software...circles, lines, squares, parallax is avoided since they aren't physical features of an image plane.
The Digital Hunter Day Night Riflescope by Elcan is the same great riflescope as the Digital Hunter, with an added Low light mode. Additional features include a stunning low light imagery in black and white, active night vision, and low light mode. This mode displays all the available visible light and the near infrared light that you can't see, but the scope can. This enables great low light performance up to 30 minutes before and after civil twilight. Utilizing the near infrared means that more light is available to the scope for brighter images in low light situations. After dark, active night vision enables mostly covert surveillance and varmint hunting, where legal. The effective range of the active night vision depends on the power and power density of the IR Flashlight.
A variety of infrared flashlights can be used to enable the active night vision. With two of these IR flashlights mounted to your firearm, identification ranges of up to 50 yards is achievable. Digital Hunter Day Night Riflescope available as a kit (DNDH-KIT) which includes 2 IR flashlights.
The Elcan Riflescopes offer instant replay. Either video or still photographs can be reviewed on the LCD display immediately after they are captured. A shot activated video/photograph capture can be set so that a five second video sequence contains before the shot, after the shot, or a combination of before and after. Resolution can be set for high, medium or low. Generous exit pupil diameter is constant over magnification range. Since the Digital Hunter has electronic magnification (eZoom), the exit pupil does not change with magnification, whether you are at high or low magnifications. A video output port enables others to see what the shooters see in real time when the video is viewed on an external monitor. This is useful for shooting training and hunter safety classes.
The video allows the hunter to share his experience with his hunting buddies. The USB port provides an easy outlet for downloading customized reticles and ammunition ballistics to the scope. In addition, you can upload captured images and video from Digital Hunter to your computer. Digital Hunter has a secure digital card that provides a simple means of storing images and video from your scope. The port is compatible with the commonly available Secure Digital Memory Card format. In addition, all reticles and ammunition ballistic information can be transferred through the Secure Digital Card providing an alternative to the USB interface. In addition, the scopes have a Ballistically Corrected Reticle. The scope automatically positions the scene so the shooter can hold "dead on" at the estimated range to the target.
Realtime Reticle Swapping allows for the hunter to use 4 different reticles loaded into the scope at one time. They can be used in a variety of different ways. They could each be sighted in at a different range. Or they could be sighted for different lighting conditions. Or two could be blended so that one reticle combination works well for both high and low light conditions. The hunter could even have different reticles set for different ammo. The scopes also have an electronic zoom. The only moving parts in the scope is a diopter adjustment. Magnification is accomplished electronically, centered about the designated center pixel. Aimpoint does not change at all during magnification changes like it does on a conventional scope, nor does resolution as the hunter changes from wide field of view to narrow.
The Elcan Digital Hunters are the riflescopes for today's age. They offer technology that you come to expect, and they offer it with premium quality.
