Browning Camping
Browning is a name that you have known and trusted for years, and the iconic deer head is instantly recognizable (whether you see the buck, the doe or both!). When you see that stylized head, you know that whatever it is attached to is solid and dependable, just like the Browning rifle your dad gave you for your first deer hunt. Now Browning offers more than firearms and hunting accessories – they have joined forces with ALPS Mountaineering (known for their backpacking expertise) to offer the avid outdoorsman who enjoys hunting and fishing the best camping products available. Browning Camping offers top quality products to make your outdoor experience the very best it can be, so that you can be warm, comfortable and safe . . . in other words, you’ll be well rested so you can fully enjoy your hunting and fishing experience.
The basis for Browning tents is quality, which begins with the nylon oxford floors that are thicker and more durable than most tents. The fly seams and floor seams are factory sealed to keep you dry and protected, even in pouring rain. Ventilation is a key component of comfort, and these tents were designed with mesh windows, ventilated doors and flys that keep the weather and bugs out but allow air flow. Browning tents are roomy enough to set up your sleeping space and store your gear without being up against the side walls (and anyone who has spent a rainy night in a tent knows why that is important!). Browning utilizes lightweight fabrics, a benefit to any camper, but will be especially appreciated by backpackers who know that every ounce counts.
These tents are freestanding, with pole clips that quickly attach the tent to the fiberglass poles (no more struggling with threading the pole through fabric tubes when you’re putting the tent up, or hassling with bunched up fabric when you’re trying to extract the pole from those same tubes!). The weatherproof fly buckles to the tent for a secure fit even in harsh weather. Extra large zippers are durable and easy to use, a real plus if you have gloves on or your fingers are cold. Several Browning tents feature a unique two-room design with two doors. No more crawling over each other to get to the door – each room has its own entrance – and the door design also helps with ventilation.
After a full day in the wild, you’ll be ready for a good night’s sleep. For those times when you will be camping for several nights or have the whole family along, the Black Canyon is a good choice. The fly attaches with buckles for a firm, secure fit, and steel supports add to the stability of the tent, which is tall enough to stand up in (over 7’).
For those who enjoy the challenge of camping in extreme conditions – or those who want to be prepared in case the weather gets rough – Browning Camping offers the Glacier. It also has straight walls, so you can comfortably sleep in a tent. The full coverage fly offers maximum protection against the elements, and has extra guy-outs to help stabilize the fly. Two large vestibules provide plenty of room for storage.
The Cypress or the Kennesaw is a good choice for the individual or couple who wants a lightweight tent, but still wants stable, secure protection from the elements. Assembly is quick and easy.
Each Browning Camping tent comes with everything you need for your next camping adventure: the tent, a rain fly, poles, a pole bag, stakes, a stake bag, guy ropes, repair swatches, mesh storage pockets (or a gear loft) and a tent bag to keep everything clean and organized when you get back home.
